The 19th Annual Equine Affaire in New England!  Equine Affaire takes place November 10-13, 2016. Experience the nation’s premiere equine exposition, featuring more than 230 unique clinics, seminars, and demonstrations by top professionals in the horse industry. Equine Affaire also hosts the largest trade show in the East, showcasing hundreds of commercial exhibits, an extensive Breed Pavilion, an educational Equine Fundamentals Forum, the Versatile Horse & Rider Competition, and a special evening show – the Fantasia, a musical celebration of the horse.  Adult admission is $15/day or $50/four-day pass and includes admission to all presentations. The Fantasia (Thursday through Saturday) requires a separate ticket and usually sells out before the event. FARM & FAMILY FRIENDLY HORSE & TACK SALE

NEW HAVEN, VT – The 20th annual Green Mountain Draft Horse

Association (GMDHA) and tack sale auction will be held Saturday,

May 4th at the Addison County Fairgrounds in New Haven just

off Route 17, beginning at 9 am.

This farm and family friendly event brings together horsemen

and women from all over New England, New York and Canada,

as well as people who just want to soak in the sights and sounds

of living history and get great photos of big horses and colorful

people.

While the organizers never know how many and what breeds

will be consigned, everything from mini-horses to Clydesdale’s

have been sold. Several years ago, a small herd of mini-donkeys

made their way to the sales floor to the delight of children.

The auction allows horse owners to sell their unwanted items

and to purchase new ones. Visitors generally find an array of

new and used saddles, fore carts, carriages, buckboards and

stone boats. New brushes, lead lines and muck buckets are also

sold. Tack is sold in the morning, with the sale of horses and

carriages following in the afternoon.

Food will be for sale on site and the fairground’s restrooms will

be open. Bleacher seats are available inside the sales building

and visitors may also bring their own food and chairs. Guests

will be asked to donate one dollar per vehicle for parking to help

defray the club’s costs. Sorry, no dogs are allowed.

To bid, a valid driver’s license is required. Cash or checks are

accepted, but no credit cards. Consignment forms are available

Green Mountain Draft Horse Association promotes the humane

use of equines of all sizes for farming, logging, driving and riding.
